On April 19, 2005 "Georgia Cities: The Heart and Soul of
Georgia" bus tour will be making a stop here, in Vidalia!
Approximately 40 business leaders, state and federal officials,
legislators, the philanthropic community, developers, economic
development officials, media, and members of the Georgia Cities
Foundation Board of Directors and staff will be on board to tour out
great downtown. They will be touring 12 other East Central
Georgia Cities and we are hoping to make their favorite stop
Downtown Vidalia! The Heart and Soul Bus Tour is part of an
overall effort to educate and inform state leaders on the importance
of successful downtown development and its role in supporting
economic development efforts for regions and communities.
As the Bus Tour arrives in Vidalia, we are beginning their visit
with a welcome celebration in the back parking lot of City Hall.
They will receive a brief welcome before they are taken on a walking
tour of Downtown to see the historic renovations. The tour
will end at Ellis' Florist with a send-off reception and
celebration, along with entertainment from the Vidalia High School
Band. |
