OPENING CEREMONIES AND FIREWORKS DISPLAY

5:15 p.m. until

               Fireworks 8:30 p.m.  

               Southeastern Technical College

Sponsored by Darby Bank & Trust , Oxford Industries and OC Healthlink.  One of the largest and most dazzling displays of fireworks in Southeast Georgia.  Entertainment provided by local talent and jazz bands.  Recreation events will be provided for kids of all ages.  This is a family event, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come join the fun.  Located at Southeastern Technical College on Highway 280.  For more information, please contact Tracey Adams at (912)538-3157.

1st Annual Onion Scramble Charity Event

Sponsored by The Vidalia Rotary Club,  Register Early to be a part of Vidalia's Onion Scramble.  Participants receive a complimentary lunch including  The Rotary's famous Vidalia Onion Rings!  Cash prizes will be awarded, 1st place being $1,000.00 (subject to tournament participation). All registrations  before April 26 receive a golf shirt.  Choice of golf courses; Vidalia Country Club or Rocky Creek - same venue at both.  Entry fee is $120 per player and includes mulligan, chance for longest drive and closest to pin.  This is a charity event.  All procedes will go to the Rotary foundation (programs that sponsor worldwide peace humanitarian support)  and W.I.N.G.S. Vidalia Municipal Airport

Sponsored by City of Vidalia, The Southern Company, Go Communications, Harton Automotive Group, Montgomery County Bank, Lark Builders, Trane and BB&T.  This year's air show is a patriotic salute to America's Armed Forces.  The highlight will be a reenactment of the Japanese attack against Pearl Harbor, performed  by the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, complete with Japanese Fuji's, a Japanese "Kate" Torpedo Bomber Bomber, exploding bombs and American T-6's.  Numerous vintage war birds, featuring the B-25 bomber and SBD Dauntless dive-bomber will be performing and on display.

Other performances will include Jim Leroy (The Bulldog-extreme aerobatics), Speed for Hire (a jet-powered bus), Jimmy Franklin in his jet-powered Waco, performing wing walking and aerobatics.  Rides will be available in an Alouette Turbojet Helicopter and in the Shania Monster Truck.  There will be military aircraft on display and military flyovers for Saturday and Sunday.

Kiddy rides, pony rides, a simulator, novelty vendors and lots of good food will make this event fun for all ages!

Tickets are $5.00 at the gate; children under 4 are FREE.  Advanced tickets can be purchased for $4.00 at the Vidalia City Hall and the Toombs-Montgomery Chamber of Commerce.  Come join us for family entertainment and fun for all ages!

Come join us for our cooking school on stage as we welcome Mark Ballard.  Since childhood, Mark, known to television viewers in middle Georgia as THE ARTISTã,,¢, has combined his incredible artistic talent with a marvelous sense of humor to amaze and entertain.  Mark is the author of several books, including a cookbook.  He comes to our stage with fabulous onion recipes, entertaining and table setting ideas.  The public is invited.  No admission will be charged.  For more information, contact Alexa Chapman at (912)538-8687.
